1. Play Pen / Play Area

After a few weeks of having our daughter, we purchased one of these highly rated, secure and reliable! One of the best purchases we have ever made.

Safety for Baby

We have very bouncy and lively boxer dogs. They love to play, jump, run and everything else, which we love. But when we had a baby, we realised this would not be ideal and putting baby on the floor would not be an option.

We then purchased this playpen and set it up in our living room. Absolute game-changer. We were then able to put our daughter on the floor and not worry about the dogs accidentally running into her or stepping on her whilst she did tummy time and played on the floor.

Visibility for Dogs

Our dogs love being around us all the time, as I am sure yours do too? Yes, we wanted space for baby on the floor, but we did not want to isolate our dogs and i hated the idea of shutting them out of the room when we used the floor space.

Thanks to the gated walls, the dogs could literally sit on the other side of the playpen whilst we were inside playing with baby. Perfect!

Flexible For Different Spaces

The other great thing about this play pen is that all of the panels can slot into each other. This means you can make the pen bigger or smaller as you’re space requires.

We used the full pen on the living eroom floor, we broke it apart to use it as a barrier to split another room into two and we were even able to use it by her bedroom door until we got our baby gates installed.

Out of 5 stars, I would definitely give it a 5!

2. Sturdy Jogging Stroller

Now, if you know anything about boxer dogs, you’ll know that they are very high energy and they need a lot of exercise, which means lots of walks!

Of course, baby cannot walk yet, so we decided to invest in this jogging stroller. It is great! It allows me to tie the dogs to the side, baby is comfortable and safe and, most importantly, we can go offroad!

Personally, we have never had an issue with our stroller. It works superbly, is easy for me to manage myself with the kids and dogs and folds away very easily too.

This had to be apart of the theme because it really does help in keeping baby safe around dogs because ensuring the dogs get time outside is important, especially in keeping them relaxed and much calmer in the house.

3. Hands Free Dog Leash

Following on from the above, we actually purchased two of these for our dogs at the same time (along with the product below) and they have been a great addition!

We mainly use these in conjunction with the baby carrier product below, but just being able to clip these to me and focus on baby in the carrier, has been really nice for us and continues to give us the ability to all walk together on lovely days.

If your dogs are not easy to walk, I do not recommend doing this with a baby in a carrier!

4. Baby Carrier

The perfectttt product to go with the adjustable hands-free dog leash (above). We now either put baby in the off-road stroller and tie the dogs to the side OR when we walk, we use the hands-free dog leashes in combination with this baby carrier from BabyBjorn.

Highly rated, strong, comfortable for baby and a great price too!

Being honest, I was tempted to get a cheaper version, but decided that the price to ensure baby was safe was worth the extra cost.

5. Car Dog Barrier

Finally, this was also a great addition as boxers, and most dogs actually, dribble so much! We didn’t want our dogs leaning over the middle and dribbling over baby whilst we were in the car.

We also didn’t like the idea of them potentially jumping through into the middle section of the car whilst we were in transit.

For the price, it was a no-brainer! It is adjustable and works perfectly.

Again, we didn’t want anything that would obstruct the dogs view of us or our view of them, but it had to be safe and sturdy. This definitely ticked all of the boxes!

Very simple to install and use for sure!

6. Solid Rubber Dog Toy!

Finally, this can not be overlooked. A good dog toy that will keep them happy at home whilst you are interacting with and playing with baby.

Luckily for us, our dogs did not get jealous when baby came home. This is not always the case which is why this tip cannot be overlooked.

Kong makes solid dog toys. Our boxers rip through most toys, but not Kong toys! It says in the title “for Power Chewers” and they are not lying.

It’s great to have solid dog toys to keep them engaged whilst you are playing with baby for sure and Kong have never disappointed us!
